During maturation the Balvenie Double Wood is transferred from a traditional whisky cask to an European sherry cask thereby acquiring character from each. This second cask ageing is at the heart of The Balvenie Double Wood.
Smoother than both the Doublewood 12, and the Caribbean Cask versions. Less vanilla and sherry, but more honey and wintery notes? The aftertaste is a little oakier than the others, but also a little shorter.
