Cadenhead's own bourbon cask, bottled directly in the shop. This is "Cask 4", a Lowland 58% Bourbon Cask. Bottles at full cask strength. Cask 4 is the lightest of all the casks due to the malting process for the barley, no peat is used to dry the malted barley then distilling 3 times adds a soft fruity tone the malt. As with any of our 1842 casks you will find it difficult to pin down one distillery flavour but you will taste something familiar in each of the casks that reminds you of your favourite light style whisky.

This whisky has been in a Belize Rum Cask since September 2015.

This whisky was distilled at a time when the fermentation was split between wooden wash backs 96 hours, and steel wash backs 48 hours. Today, the distillery only does 48 hours fermentation. It is one of 222 bottles, aged in a Bourbon Hogshead.
