First distilled in 1973 Longrow is a double distilled, heavily peated, single malt produced at Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. The malt is peat dried for up to 48 hours to give the whisky a unique Campbeltown-style smokey character. Less than 100 casks of Longgow are filled each year. This Longrow Red Single Malt has been matured for eleven years in Bourbon casks and one year in Fresh New Zealand Pinot Noir casks. Only 9000 bottles at cask strength will be available worldwide.

Lovely smokey whisky with strong tones of red wine. Long warm finish with hints of forest berries

Day #16: First hint is big in red wine and smoke. With a few drops of water, it's a bit lighter, but still big notes of peat and red wine. #advent

Red wine and sweet. A little peaty. With three drops of water the flavours are easier to pick out. Some dark red fruits and a little woody.

A lovely full flavoured whisky. A little oily on the palate, it starts with lots of berries and a hint of orange. It has red wine and warm peaty finish that doesn't lingers reasonably long.
